The Jardin des plantes. This garden belongs to the Museum of Natural sciences. Both a scientific establishment and a public service, applying itself to research and the dissemination of knowledge, the Museum has five main founding objectives which govern and nourish all of its activities.

Rue Mouffetard is one of Paris's oldest and liveliest neighbourhoods. These days the area has many restaurants, shops, and cafés, and a regular open market.
![]() The Arènes de Lutece are among the most important remains from the Gallo-Roman era in Paris (formerly known as Lutèce in French or Lutetia in Latin), together with the Thermes de Cluny. Lying in what is now the Quartier Latin, this amphitheater could once seat 15,000 people, and was used to present gladiatorial combats.
